Readact ("we", "our", or "us") operates as a client-side web application. We prioritize your privacy by ensuring that, by default, your data remains on your device.
Readact is a "Local-First" application. All images, projects, and redactions you create are stored in your browser's IndexedDB (local storage). We do not have servers that store, process, or view your study materials.
If you choose to use the Cloud Sync feature, Readact communicates directly with the Google Drive API. Your files are stored in your own Google Drive account. Readact requests access only to files created by the app itself (`drive.file` scope) and does not access your other Drive files.
We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
